Results of the IInd Meeting of the Siberian Association of Neurosurgeons “SibNeuro”.
The IInd meeting of the Siberian Association of Neurosurgeons “SibNeuro” took place on December 19, 2014 in the Federal Neurosurgical Center.
The meeting was opened by welcome words of Jamil Rzaev, Physician-in-Chief of the Federal Neurosurgical Center.
Professor of Omsk state Medical Academy A.G.Kalinichev became the Chairman of the IInd meeting of the Siberian Association of neurosurgeons.
The meeting started with scientific section. 4 reports were presented in this part. The first was presented by Vadim N.Bikmullin (R.R.Vreden Russian Scientific Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedy (St.-Petersburg). In his report Dr.Bikmullin told the audience about modern requirements to the evaluation of functional treatment outcomes of degenerative spine diseases. He classified pain measurements for patient introducing examples of foreign and Russian rating scales.
The second report of Dr.Bikmullin was dedicated to microvascular anastomosis. He told about methodological aspects of efficacy evaluation of extra-intracranial microvascular anastomosis in occlusive disorders of brachiocephalic arteries. He also shared experience of such patients’ treatment in R.R.Vreden Russian Scientific Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedy.
The third report was presented by the neurosurgeon of neurovascular division, Vitaliy S.Kiselev. He told the audience about endovascular treatment of patients with cerebral vascular pathology in the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk). The main theme was summary of surgical procedures performed during 2014.
Galina I.Mojsak presented a report on Options of modern visualization methods in the brain surgery. In the report Dr.Mojsak used her experience and practical knowledge after her traineeship in one of Japanese clinics.
The final report was presented by Julia S.Anokhina covering issues of the Association’s activities. She drew preliminary conclusions and told the audience about some plans for development of the Association.
According to the results of the conference it should be noticed that the reports were very interesting and debatable. Many specialists were involved into discussion. Thus, for example, the Head of Radiology division of the Federal Neurosurgical Center, Mikhail E.Amelin, took the floor with some additional information to the report of Dr.Galina Mojsak.
It was settled to hold the next meeting of the Siberian Association of Neurosurgeons on January 30, 2015. During the forthcoming meeting it’s planned to announce the name of the winner of young neurosurgeons’ competition being held in the framework of the Association.
