Traditionally the chairman of the meeting was Physician-in-Chief of theFederal Neurosurgical Center, Jamil A.Rzaev.
The first lecturer was Andrey Y.Letyagin, Professor, the Head of scientific and clinical laboratory of MRI, Scientific Research Institute of Physiology and Fundamental Medicine (Novosibirsk). He made a report on “High-field magnetic-resonance imaging in Scientific Research Institute of Physiology and Fundamental Medicine”. After the report Professor Letyagin answered the questions of the audience. In the nearest future an interview of Professor Letyagin will be published at our website. Please follow the news.
The second report was a report of Dr.Andrey V.Dubovoy, Head of Neurovascular Division of the Federal Neurosurgical Center (Novosibirsk) on “Surgical treatment of complex cerebral aneurysms with the use of revascularization methods”.
Laila T.Khamidova, Senior researcher of urgent neurology division, N.V.Sklifosovsky Research Institute of First Aid (Moscow) was an invited speaker of the IVth meeting. She presented her report on “Ultrasound research methods in neurology and neurosurgery”.
There was a very bright and vivid discussion with the participants of the meeting after report of Dr.Khamidova. She answered the questions. Some questions concerned the significance of testing period in case of aneurysm rupture. “The most important thing is to find out when the patient was admitted (on what day of a rupture). The spasm begins during 3-4 day and the doctors should estimate the blood-flow speed gain for 24 hours, spasm duration, speed and post-meal symptom severity of blood-flow during 7-11th crucial days and to estimate the blood-flow speed in dynamics. Serious patients are monitored even twice per 24 hours”, - says Dr.Khamidova.
Besides participants who gathered in the conference-hall of the Federal Neurosurgical Center, our colleagues-neurosurgeons from Irkutsk took an active part in the meeting via real-time translation.
