Results of the Russian-French Week
"Starting from 2016 we have launched a new format of scientific and educational events, so called neurosurgical weeks. What’s the goal of such events? The fact is that as a rule, organization and holding of such significant symposia and meetings is impractical and expensive. Practical courses are time-limited and do not have many participants. As for “neurosurgical weeks”, they allow comprising a lot of interesting things into 7 days:
· Lectures;
· Practical sessions in the laboratory;
· Examination and discussion of patients;
· Surgical show-cases, etc.
The first neurosurgical week – Siberian-American week (February 2017) was dedicated to the problems of vascular neurosurgery.
The second Siberian-American week was held in August 2017 during which participants discussed the problems of spinal neurosurgery.
Siberian-French neurosurgical week was held during June 02-08, 2018 at the premises of our Center. Marc Sindou (from Lyon University) and Philippe Cornu (from Paris University Hospital La Pitie-Salpetriere) were our invited guests. The colleagues from France presented their lectures and participated in joint discussion of clinical cases during several days. Shortly speaking, we had the same activities as all world clinics had with invited professors.
Thus, Novosibirsk neurosurgery is a part of a huge world neurosurgical family.
There was also enough time for informal communications: the guests were offered a sightseeing tour around Novosibirsk, they were brought to Akademgorodok. We served our guests with Russian food, discussed interesting themes and topics of possible collaboration.
Everyone felt pity to part but I am sure, it was a start of big and long-lasting history of Siberian-French neurosurgical collaboration”.
