Results of the “White Matter Dissection” Practical Course

The faculties of the course were our colleagues from Brazil and Turkey:  

- Mehmet Volkan Harput,  Yeditepe University  (Istanbul, Turkey);

- Paulo Abdo Do Seixo Kadri: Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (Campo- Grande, Brazil).

Doctors and specialists from Novosibirsk, Omsk, Moscow and Novokuznetsk were among participants of the course.

During the course participants had a chance to find out about anatomy of brain vessels, cranial nerves and other structures. During the practical course there was white matter dissection with tracts exposure and insight into anatomy of deeply placed structures. There was layer-by-layer dissection according to established principles.

As a result, participants got profound knowledge about brain anatomy and different tracts’ ways. This will allow cutting time for pre-operational planning and facilitating more profound understanding of the process of surgery.

All participants got certificates in the end of the course.
